Role/Objectives

The festival is usually conducted every April. Previously the client was managing the process manually. Managing the artists was difficult for the volunteers whenever there was a change in the event/unavailability of room/absence of artist which involved rescheduling.

Having a system that is marginally better than the completely manual system serves very little benefit. Also a brittle software system prone to lot of human error can have potentially serious consequences. Managing such a system would be very challenging.

The request for the application came at a short notice and had to be delivered within 45 days which included a responsive Admin portal and an Android App.

Solution

Wisdomleaf analyzed the challenges and carefully studied the workflow of Aradhana music festival and quickly adopted to SCRUM methodology. We had sprint releases every week as it was to be completed on a tight schedule.

The Client was also part of the release meetings and provided feedback which was incorporated into the subsequent sprints.

We architected the solution and provided client with the templates to collect the user information and import to our portal application which would allocate participants the room automatically.

The solution provided a way for the judges/coordinators of event to reorder/cancel/update the status of participant. These notifications were pushed to the Mobile APP users who could plan for the event much better than previous years.

The application was built on Yii MVC framework for rapid application development and Bootstrap Css framework was used for styling it.

Portal offered easy interface to shift the events between rooms in an elegant way. The Mobile APP was using push notification services through which the participants/parents were updated on the key information within seconds.
